Welcome to Tech Fixer Canberra. By booking a service with us, you agree to the following terms and conditions governing our computer repair and IT support services.

1. Service Authorization

You authorize Tech Fixer to perform diagnostic, repair, and installation services on your computer or device. You agree to pay for these services at our agreed rates. For onsite services in Canberra and Queanbeyan, you authorize our technicians to enter your premises at the scheduled time.

2. Data Loss & Backups

While we take every precaution to protect your data, hardware failure (especially with hard drives) or software corruption can result in data loss during repairs. You are responsible for backing up your data prior to service. Tech Fixer is not liable for any data loss that may occur during the repair process.

3. Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of the service unless prior arrangements have been made. We accept cash, credit card, and bank transfer. Goods (such as new modems, hard drives, or screens) remain the property of Tech Fixer until paid for in full.

4. Warranty

We provide a 12-month warranty on all new hardware parts supplied and installed by us. Our labor carries a 30-day warranty for the specific issue we repaired. This warranty does not cover:

  • New software issues, virus infections, or malware occurring after the service.
  • Physical damage caused by misuse, accidents, or liquid spills after the repair.
  • Issues unrelated to the original repair scope.

5. Unclaimed Goods

Any devices left in our possession for more than 60 days after repair completion (and notification) may be disposed of to recover costs, in accordance with the Uncollected Goods Act 1996 (ACT).

6. Liability

Our liability for any claim arising out of our services is limited to the cost of re-supplying the service or the cost of the hardware provided. Tech Fixer is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, such as loss of business revenue or data.

7. “No Fix, No Fee” Policy

Our “No Fix, No Fee” guarantee ensures that if we cannot diagnose the problem or provide a viable solution, you will not be charged for the service labor.

Exceptions: The policy does not apply in the following cases:

  • Declined Quote: If we diagnose the fault and provide a quote for repair, but you choose not to proceed, a diagnostic fee may apply.
  • Water Damage: Cleaning and assessment services for liquid-damaged devices are chargeable regardless of the outcome due to the intensive labor involved.
  • Third-Party Issues: Issues caused by third-party services (e.g., NBN outages, email provider downtime) that are beyond our control.

8. Service Area Coverage

These terms apply to all services provided in our coverage areas, including:

Gungahlin, Belconnen, North Canberra, South Canberra, Woden, Weston Creek, Molonglo Valley, Tuggeranong, Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra, and Googong.

Service FAQ

What happens if you can’t fix my computer?

Under our “No Fix, No Fee” policy, if we can’t diagnose the issue or offer a solution, you don’t pay for the labor. However, if we diagnose the fault (e.g., faulty motherboard) and you choose not to proceed with the repair quote, a diagnostic fee applies.

Is my data safe during repair?

We prioritize data privacy and security. However, due to the nature of electronics, unexpected failures can happen. We always recommend backing up your data before we arrive or drop off your device.
